One dead in police shooting in North Kamloops

A body remains in an SUV as of 9 p.m. tonight (Friday, July 30) following what is believed to be a police shooting in North Kamloops.

The coroner has been called.

The vehicle crashed into a bistro on Tranquille Road, near the Royal Avenue intersection, during the incident.

Business owners in the area told KTW they have been told they will not access access to their shops until late Saturday, July 31.

A four-block radius is closed and Kamloops RCMP will hold a media briefing at the Battle Street detachment ay 9:30 p.m.
